Bio:
Fire versus Extinguisher came into existence in November
of 2004. Numerologically speaking, no party presently
involved with the band is quite sure what, if any
significance this bears. However, there are three
members at this juncture.
None of the trio was raised in the city of Austin, but
nevertheless were destined to meet there, conventional
rock and roll instruments in hand, a quaint living room
east of I-35 in the southside of town their home.
Ideas whimsically circled the space in what came to be
called the Pepperhouse, and from this improvised
collaboration of fingertips was birthed a strange
momentum that continues henceforth.
As of yet, the sound of FvE remains wholly instrumental,
but in no way has the band permanently chiseled into the
foundation of their sound the limitations of repetition.
Each member constantly seeks new inspirations, within
and without, in order to evolve as well as harmonize
with the instability and constant change surrounding us
all. The sonic atmosphere is simultaneously a cosmic
tornado and breeze through prairie grasslands, unafraid
of acknowledging natural extremes: focused steadfast on
the tightrope thinly stretched over the shifting
middleground.
